09.10.2017

The Capital Park is recognized as the best open entertainment park in the CIS in 2017. The honorary title of Astana Park was awarded the day before in Sochi at the XV “Crystal Wheel” review competition, which is unique and annually defines leaders in the entertainment and recreation industry.

162 participants entered into the competition. The nomination, which was won by the Capital Park – “The best open entertainment park, with the number of visitors from 500 thousand to 1 million people per year”, is the largest. In the CIS, this category includes all parks except for Sochi Park, which was built in 2014 on the eve of the Winter Olympic Games. The parks of Moscow, St. Petersburg, Minsk, Tbilisi and other major cities strived for victory.

The title of the best open entertainment park on the territory of the CIS is very honorable. The jury noted that Astana Capital Park won the award due to its multifunctionality – in addition to attractions there is a city beach, an outdoor pool area, a ski-roller track for sports in the park. During the summer, there were daily entertainment events “7 Wonders of the Park” and weekly Sunday training “Fitness Park Astana” (see the video about the Capital Park under the link: https://youtu.be/ApVKK3qD9zA)

– The recognition of the Capital Park as the best on the territory of the CIS corresponds to the goals set by President Nursultan Abishevich Nazarbayev to glorify Kazakhstan in the field of culture. In the program article “Bolashakka baghdar: Rukhani Zhangyru”, the Head of State pays great attention to the growth of the national consciousness through culture and modernization. Adhering to this policy and aiming at new achievements, we pay great attention to the development of parks and organization of public leisure of citizens and guests of Astana. Undoubtedly, this award is the result of many years of hard work aimed at developing places of cultural and mass recreation in the capital. This is the first prize of such scale among the parks of Kazakhstan, and we want to dedicate this award to the 20th anniversary of our Capital, – Bolat Mazhagulov, head of the Department of Culture, Archives and Documentation of Astana, said.

The competition was held in a forum format. During 4 days representatives of the entertainment industry from different countries shared their experience and visited educational seminars. The event was held on the territory of Sochi Park, which is the largest park in Russia and the only one in the CIS with an annual number of visitors of more than 1 million people.
